Dr Balaji is a consultant surgeon with over 30 years of experience, specialising in Upper GI Surgery and Bariatric Surgery in Dubai, UAE. He treats oesophageal (food pipe) disorders and performs advanced weight loss surgery in Dubai.
He has been a consultant surgeon since 2009, following completion of his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in the UK. As a specialist in Antireflux Surgery and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery, he has a special interest in revisional bariatric surgery, oesophageal surgery, and adolescent bariatric surgery. He has helped patients with reflux problems, swallowing disorders, and morbid obesity achieve healthier, renewed lives.
He is currently working in the Department of Upper GI Surgery and Weight Loss Surgery at NMC Royal Hospital Dubai. He also serves as the hospital’s Medical Director, demonstrating his commitment to clinical excellence and healthcare leadership.
He has a passion for healthcare leadership, patient safety, and quality improvement, and is currently completing an MBA in Healthcare at the world-renowned Warwick Business School in the UK.
